What happened to Khanyi’s talk show? Here’s what we know…

There was a time‚ not so long ago‚ when Khanyi Mbau was South Africa’s queen of talk. Her talk show Katch it with Khanyi ruled the TV screen‚ and she had some of the country’s biggest celebs on her couch.

But all too soon the show disappeared from our screens‚ with hardly any notice. Fans wondered what had become of Khanyi and her talk show‚ so we asked her.

“The show is currently on hold because of a change of management at the station (e.tv) so we should know by June whether it will be renewed for another season‚” Khanyi told TMG Entertainment on Wednesday.

Khanyi says that she has yet to receive any indication from the station‚ but hopes that the show will be renewed.

Meanwhile‚ the station said that they have no immediate plans to renew the talk show.

“Currently we do not have immediate plans for a new season‚” said e.tv’s Acting MD Marlon Davids.

So‚ while we’re at it‚ what about her radio show?

Khanyi‚ who joined YFM as a weekend presenter early last year‚ says that she has not renewed her contract with the station because of a busy schedule.

“I didn’t renew my contract because it just became too much for me. I asked management to put me on hold because of my busy schedule. Juggling being on air and being on set was just too much.”
