Chiefs flip over Khune side deal - report

Kaizer Chiefs are contemplating taking legal action against their number one goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune after he allegedly signed a lucrative endorsement deal behind their back.

This startling revelation was made by a senior Chiefs official who claims that the club felt betrayed by the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

The official, who did not want to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media, said the club was reserving its rights and was consulting its lawyers about the matter.

"Khune basically breached [his] contract of employment with Chiefs by signing an endorsement deal without the authorisation of the club. He is the property of the club and he can't go around endorsing products that are not aligned with the club without the blessings of the club," he said.

"The bosses feel Khune is ungrateful, taking into account that they gave him a good contract even after all his transfer issues last year."
