DANNY Jordaan is happy with the success of junior national teams, the Safa president saying it bodes well for Bafana Bafana.

Amajimbos (under-17s) and Amajita (under-20s) are well on track to qualify for their respective continental competitions.

Speaking at OR Tambo International Airport yesterday, Jordaan said the federation will make more resources available to support the teams.

He was welcoming Amajita from their West Africa tour, where they were preparing for their final 2015 African Youth Championship qualifier in Yaounde on August 16.

Jordaan said Bafana will not have quality players to conquer the world if the junior teams are neglected and do not perform well in their competitions.

"This is our project to Moscow 2018 World Cup," said Jordaan, referring to Amajita players who were on tour with Shakes Mashaba, who has since been promoted to head Bafana.

"Our teams must not face west African opposition only in official competitions. The tour helped them prepare for Cameroon, to get used to the conditions.

"We are also happy our under-17s are doing well in their qualifiers, they scored four goals [against Tanzania], which was the first time in 10 games they won with such a margin.

"We hope our junior teams will continue doing well in their respective competitions so that we will also have a solid Bafana."

During the 16-day tour, Amajita played four friendlies, drawing with Burkina Faso (1-1) and Mali (0-0), and losing 1-0 to Senegal and Ivory Coast.
