BAFANA Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane will use today's game against Zambia at Rand Stadium to try various combinations as part of his plans to prepare for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Mosimane told Sowetan yesterday he would field as many of his young players as possible to give the new recruits international experience.

Kickoff is at 4.30pm.

Safa has decided to downgrade today's game and the one against Ghana on Sunday to practice matches.

This was after some of the local and overseas clubs refused to release their players, arguing the two games did not fall under the Fifa calendar.

Bafana, captained by Reneilwe Letsholonyane in the absence of Steven Pienaar and Siphiwe Tshabalala, will face Ghana at Royal Bafokeng Stadium at 4pm.

Coaches of the teams involved will be allowed to deviate from the standard rules of the game, meaning a player can be replaced and brought back at a later stage.

"As coaches we will sit down and agree on the number of substitutions in line with our strategies. I might field 11 players and replace them in the second half," said Mosimane.

"We are looking forward to facing Zambia, they have a pretty good team. For us it is part of the building process for the 2013 Afcon finals that we will be hosting.

"If there's a red card we can just bring another player in his place to make sure we still play 11 against 11. The aim is to give everybody a chance to play.

"Of course we always go out for a win, but the most important thing is for us to have a look at all the players," said Mosimane.
