MAMELODI Sundowns defender Thapelo “Chappies” Tshilo is expected to re-join Jomo Cosmos on loan this week

Cosmos owner-coach Jomo Sono confirmed that they were in discussions with Sundowns for the transfer of Tshilo, who is not a regular at the Chloorkop side.

“We are talking with Sundowns, I’m hoping that Chappies will be allowed to join us on a year loan deal in the next few days.

“Hopefully the negotiations will be completed before Tuesday so that he  will play for us when we meet Sundowns in a league match at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton on Wednesday.

“We are still a bit thin at the back, that is why I have decided to bring Chappies back,” said Sono, whose team went down 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs in their opening league match on Saturday.

Tshilo, who has also played for the South African Under-23s and Bafana Bafana, joined Sundowns at the beginning of last season on a three year deal  after Cosmos were relegated to the National First Division League
