The Gauteng provincial government will host the event in line with its policy of making it The Home of Competitive Sports.
Organised by GFSPORT since 1990, the event is one of the three global products of world motor sport along with Formula 1 and MotoGP.
The last time the event, which Gauteng will also use to promote the province ahead of the 2010 World Cup, took place in South Africa was in 2002.
Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa said: "This event will assist in establishing the brand image of Gauteng as a home for competitive sport.
"It will attract investment and promote tourism, which in turn will help us grow the economy of the province and deal with poverty and unemployment."
The Superbike World Championships attracts more than a million race spectators and has a worldwide TV viewing audience of more than 2 billion.
In the four racing classes that make up the weekend event programme, more than 140 riders representing 27 nations compete. - Ramatsiyi Moholoa.
