Military veterans brought traffic to halt in Pretoria on Wednesday as they marched to the Department of Military Veterans to protest against the “tardy” handling of their affairs.

Singing “we will meet in the bush with a bazooka“‚ the former African National Congress‚ Pan Africanist Congress and Azanian People’s Organisation (Azapo) guerrillas displayed the discipline synonymous with the military.

About 2‚000 former guerrillas‚ alongside erstwhile SA Defence Force and non-statutory forces‚ first gathered at Pretoria station before heading to the department head offices in Hatfield.

The march‚ led by the Johannesburg region of the uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA)‚ is intended to deliver a memorandum detailing issues concerning education for children of military veterans‚ housing and access to health care.
