Teacher bites a hamster to death and swallows it in front of pupils

In a sick attempt to teach his students a lesson, a South Korean teacher bit a hamster to death and swallowed it.

The misguided teacher said he wanted to show the children 'how dear life is' after catching them teasing the animals.

The rural boarding school teacher was arrested by police for child abuse after parents complained to authorities

He later apologised to the the students and parents and has left the school.

The 44-year old teacher said he would not have killed the hamster had he known it would be considered child abuse.

Seven children saw the incident.
