Update: Beaten toddler doing well

Following a horrifying video of a nanny mercilessly slapping, kicking and stumping on a toddler, it has been reported that the toddler has evaded fatal consequences and is now recovering.

According to NBS Television the toddler’s mother, Angela Mbabazi has revealed that the 18 month-old toddler is doing well.

“Angela says the baby got medication and recovered and by the grace of God, she is well,” NBS Television posted on Facebook.

It has also been said that the police charge sheet against the nanny, who has since been identified as Jolly Tumuhirwe has been amended from being charged under Anti-torture Act to attempted murder.

According to AfricanSpotlight, the toddlers father Kamanzi came home to find his daughter badly bruised last week and immediately went to review the camera he placed in the living room.

He saw the nanny torturing his daughter and beat the nanny to a pulp. The nanny then laid charges against Kamanzi who was soon released after the police saw the video. They then arrested  Tumuhirwe and charged her.

Tumuhirwe will appear in court on December 8.
