THE gloves are off between controversial sushi king Kenny Kunene and Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi.
Vavi has pleaded with all South Africans to condemn what he called a shameful sushi party held at a Sandton night club over the weekend.
There, Kunene ate sushi off the private parts of naked young women.
The party, themed Nyotaimori, an ancient Japanese practice of serving food on naked bodies, was to celebrate Kunene's 44th birthday .
Vavi and Kunene had a row four years ago, when Kunene ate sushi off the bodies of half-naked women.
Kunene's birthday party on Friday included guests such as Khanyi Mbau, music super group Kwela Tebza and rapper Lagosh.
But Vavi was livid.
"This is the worst kind of degradation of women's dignity," he told Sowetan.
He said it was immaterial that the women were adults and termed the practice "the worst example of abuse of power and money".
"It's the same as a man who says that he buys sex because women are adults and they are available, and that they are making a living out of it," said Vavi.
"My hope is that every South African will come out strongly to condemn it, to discourage it and to call on not only Mr Kunene but all his of compatriots, the people who attended this, to also be shamed that they participated in a party where they were acts of degradation of women's dignity," he said.
But Kunene hit back at the unionist, labelling him a "hypocrite" and "an office sl*t".
"There are feminists, there are politicians and there are moralists who speak from a moral high ground but when you open their lives, you find shocking things," Kunene said.
"Zwelinzima Vavi should be the last person to speak. In 2010 he spoke against the sushi parties and a few years later the world saw him for what he is , an office slut. Ke letekatsi la office.
"I am a child of God. All those who criticise me for paying models for my sushi parties will be exposed by God like he exposed Vavi.
"People are going to criticise but at the end of the day their opinions do not pay my bills. The sushi parties will go around the country from here on, there is no stopping them."
The only celebrity guest who ate the raw seafood off the naked muses, rapper Lagosh, told Sowetan yesterday he had developed a stomach ache.
