Gupta house break-in correction

The Sapa story that was published online yesterday of the break-in at the Gupta house in Houghton is in no way related to the 'famous' Gupta's who landed their plane at Waterkloof airbase and are said to be friends with president Zuma.

A New Age staffer attempted to clarify the error by providing the following information:

“Housebreaking Norwood case 121/09/2013 – happened at no 52 Fifth Street, Houghton. Warsha Gupta submitted statement yesterday saying goods worth R3-million were stolen. Confronted police to amend a statement saying only R1-million worth of goods were stolen. She further said the house is still upside down – they are further checkling exactly what was stolen. Domestic worker and gardener are both foreigners – Malawians.”
