Pastor on the run

The pastor apparently took R56,000 early last year and disappeared.

A pastor wanted for housing fraud is still sought, Western Cape police said on Thursday.

Lt-Col Norman Joseph said the 44-year-old man, who is well-known in Retreat and Steenberg, was wanted in connection with 11 fraud cases.

He said people had accused the man of taking deposits from prospective home buyers and pocketing the money.

He was the owner of Bethesda Real Estate at the time.

"He allegedly took the complainants to view houses, took them to the bank for a deposit and then requested that the money be put into his personal bank account."
