An Eastern Cape man was on Monday sentenced to 24 years in jail for raping his mother, police said.
Captain Jackson Manatha said the verdict against the 24-year-old was delivered by the Butterworth Regional Court.
The man raped his 41-year-old mother at knifepoint in December last year.
“The two were [alone] on the night in question as the younger sister of the accused was away. He raped his mother twice and she opened a case of rape against him the following day,” Manatha said.
