Domkop? Driver with fake licence nearly crashes into cops

A Soweto man was arrested on Tuesday after being found in possession of a fake driver's licence, Johannesburg metro police said.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the 24-year-old was stopped after he almost crashed into an unmarked metro police car at a traffic circle at the intersection of the N17 and Nasrec Road.

"When the officers checked his driver's licence, they discovered that it was fake.

"There was also no record of him having a learner's or driver's licence.

"He then admitted to officers that he paid R3,000 for the fake licence."

Minnaar said the man was being held at the Brixton police station.

No court date had been set as yet.
