A passer-by saw legs protruding from under the sand on a dumping  site around 4pm on Thursday, Constable Vhangani Makhado said.

Police dug up the grave and removed the baby, who started crying  a short while later, Makhado said.

Her legs and feet had bruises.

“A woman apparently gave birth a few hours earlier and buried the baby,” he said.

“It appeared she forgot to cover her legs with sand like the rest of the body.”   

The baby was taken to Evander Hospital for treatment.

A docket of child abandonment had been opened.

The mother was still being sought.

this woman is crazy.... there are many people out there who wud give anything just to have children of their own but cant, n yet some jst abonden the poor children. if you dont want the child, why dont you live her at the hospital, hope they find her and punish her for wat she did.

How does a mother do this?
The law should be changed so that every mother and her sperm donor who abandons or murders their new born babies should be permanently sterilized. They are obviously not human and don't deserve to have children

Bury the mother alive, so as she can also know how her baby felt during the gruesome experience it was subjected to. Children are a gift from God, there can never be a "good reason" to abort or dump them.
