Vice chancellor owes varsity R11m

THE Mangosuthu University of Technology council will institute a civil court action against its former vice chancellor, Aaron Ndlovu, to recover R11million from him.

This was said yesterday by council chairperson Jerome Ngwenya after Ndlovu was found guilty on four of the nine charges of misconduct he faced. "The hearing could not find him guilty of giving himself salary hikes, but we are not going to let this go."

A disciplinary hearing held last week concluded that Ndlovu abused university resources.

This included using the institution's agricultural tools on his farm, employing university staff to work there and paying them out of the university's coffers.
