Nakedness need not be un-sexy

MANY women feel very unsexy when they are naked. Even the most confident models with the most beautiful bodies are very often a bit uncomfortable with their bodies.

A survey by Men's Health magazine confirms that many women have insecurities about their bodies and most of them love frequent, enthusiastic compliments.

Model Chwayita Mtose agrees.

"Though we pose for cameras and walk the ramp in underwear, we are not totally happy and content with our bodies," Mtose says. "I think every woman goes through the same insecurity. I have been a model for many years, but I still squirm when caught in my undies even by those closest to me."

Afro-Pop singer Speedy, who is a sworn lover of sexy women, says many women feel ugly when they are naked, no matter how sexy they are.

"I find that sexy lingerie helps to a great extent," Speedy advises. "Though we were all born naked, a woman does not necessarily have to be altogether nude to look sexy."

According to life coach Chris Tynan a woman with a positive o body image and a real perception of her size and shape will feel comfortable with her body.

With a negative body image a woman has a distorted perception of her shape and size, compares her body with other people's and feels anxious about her body.

"Being unhappy with your body can affect how you think and feel about yourself as a person," Tynana says. "If you feel good about your body, you will feel good about yourself because when a woman feels good naked it shows.

"A poor body image can lead to emotional distress, low self-esteem, dieting, anxiety, depression and eating disorders."

A MAN'S ROLE

Tynan says that a man is very much responsible for making a girl feel sexy.

" It is very important if you are building a relationship or dating a woman. Remember, these women hate their bodies. And because they hate their bodies there is no way they think anyone can love them."

How to make your woman feel sexy when she is naked from askmen.com;

Compliment her body

Even if she's a little overweight, with dimpled thighs and bums, if you want to make her feel comfortable when she's naked she needs to know that you think her body is great.

Tell her you love her curves, her soft skin and her strong thighs. Let her know that you think her body is not only great, but that you're a lucky man to be seeing it in its entirety.

Ask how she feels about it

If you could get into her brain and figure out what she thinks about her body it would be great.

If you took the time to ask her what she thinks about herself, you might learn that she thinks her thighs are too big, her breasts are too small and her ankles are too thick.

It's up to you to counter everything she says with "but it's those things that make you you" or "I love your booty, uh, body". Of course, it helps a great deal if you actually mean it.

Make appreciative noises when she undresses

If you're at home and she starts to undress in front of you, take your eyes off the sports channel and acknowledge her body. Make approving and excited noises.

That will give her a bit of confidence and with time she might begin to strip down and do a little dance. Encourage her in a subtle manner.

Reveal some of your flaws

Though it's not recommended that you point out your own drawbacks, admitting to a flaw or two might help prove that you don't view yourself as perfect either, but are able to embrace your own flaws and be comfortable with your body.

That will make her feel more comfortable and give her a little assurance.

Go to the gym with her

If she's uncomfortable with her body or has put on a lot of weight recently, then working out together might help her become comfortable about her body and frame of mind. Go to the gym together.

Couples who work out together enjoy better sex and more often.
