Fans of late gospel star Lundi Tyamara can look forward to hearing some of the musician’s unreleased songs when his legacy album hits shelves at the end of March.

The album which aims to keep Lundi’s legacy alive consists of 18 songs‚ four of which have never been heard before.

Proceeds of the project entitled Legacy will go towards supporting Lundi’s two children and family.

“The album tells a story of Lundi’s life and the journey of his music career. There are songs from his humble beginnings in 1998 to his latest work‚ that he recorded shortly before falling ill‚” Lundi’s manager‚ Anele Hlazo said.

Anele explained that Lundi always wanted his fans to have new material to enjoy annually especially around the Easter holiday.

He revealed that the four never-heard-before songs were “exceptional” and featured other SA gospel artists as well.

“Nomakwenzenkani where Lundi features Fikile Mlomo was recorded in October 2016 and is set to hit radio stations this week. The other three new songs are; Uyithemba Lami featuring Sipho Mbhele; Uphakeme featuring Thinah Zungu and Zonkizizwe which he worked on with M Siya‚” Anele said.

While‚ Anele could not divulge too much detail‚ he said that the album formed part of a series of projects that would ensure Lundi’s legacy lived on.

“As much as we are all still grieving‚ his family also felt that his music should be out there‚ just as Lundi would have wanted‚” he said.

Lundi died on January 27 after a long battle with stomach TB and liver complications. Lundi rose to stardom with the release of his first album Mphefumulo Wami 1998 and scooped numerous awards over the past two decades.
