Mafikizolo set for first SA tour

AFTER more than a decade in the music industry and conquering world stages, South Africa's finest music export Mafikizolo is touring South Africa.

This was announced yesterday at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Houghton, where Radio 2000 personality Kgomotso Moeketsi played host. The dance duo of Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwepartner with theNelson Mandela Foundation on their Reunited tour.

It starts on March 14 in Pretoria and i ts final stop will be on Freedom Day (April 27) at Orlando Stadium, featuring more than 30 other artists.

The other cities on the itinerary include Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Cape Town and the Port Elizabeth.

"We've toured the world but never had a local tour. One thing about the tour is that it's edutainment; we'll be performing but also get time in those cities to have discussions with young people there," said Kgosinkwe.

Sello Hatang, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, commented: "We'll facilitate those dialogues between them and the young people about drugs, teenage pregnancies and other social ills and at the end of the tour 10% of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the foundation."

To complete the formal proceedings of the day the multi-award winning duo performed an acoustic version of their hit Mas'thokoze .
