Hot on the heels of his dismal showing as SA Music Awards host, HHP has been thrown a lifeline as judge of The Sing Off talent search competition on SABC1.
The rapper, whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo, will share the duties with Freshlyground's Zolani Mahola and the self-proclaimed king of dance, Zakes Bantwini, on the show that features a cappella groups competing for the R250000 cash prize and a Sony Music recording contract.
In a statement, HHP said the calibre of a cappella acts on the show was mind-blowing. "I'm so glad I was asked to judge this season. I love a cappella. I also love my fellow judges. All of them have years of experience under their belts."
The show's nationwide auditions produced the Top 10, and viewers were introduced to half of them during the premiere episode last Sunday.
The Sing Off is a franchised US television show. The SA version is hosted by former Idols SAcontestant Noluthando Nolly Meje.
