Chris Brown has revealed he is easily inspired around his girlfriend Rihanna because they are so similar and work well together

The 'Fine China' singer - who went public with his reconciliation with the 25-year-old 'Stay' singer last October despite still being on probation for beating her in 2009 - has opened up about their latest collaboration on a song called 'Put It Up' for his new album 'X' and revealed they have a great working relationship because they are so similar.

The 23-year-old R&B star told HollywoodLife.com: "It flows easy. What works with us is that we have similar ways of creating music.

"It's as effortless as can be."

Chris said their new duet is very different from previous songs they recorded together.

He said: "It's more of an R&B record. I wanted to do an R&B record with Rihanna because I didn't want it to be the same pop sound as before, something different than what you'd expect from us."

Despite his enthusiasm for the song, Chris admitted it might not appear on his album, saying: "Nothing's been locked in yet."

The singer recently admitted that he was "extremely grateful" that Rihanna was able to forgive him for his violent attack on her four years ago and claimed that the incident made him realise he could "lose it all".
