Hark, the power of bark

ASPIRIN is related to a tea used in ancient Greece that was made from willow bark (salicylic acid). It was also used in England and Italy in more recent times.

In 1899 Felix Hoffman, an employee with pharmaceutical company Bayer, found the compound with fewer side-effects than other forms of salicylic acid and it was marketed as aspirin.
