Venice is sinking slowly

IS VENICE sinking?

The city of Venice in Italy is unusual because it has canals instead of roads.

But this beautiful city has begun to sink.

For a while it seemed as though the subsidence had come to a stop, but recent research shows that the lagoon city is sinking at a rate of 1mm to 2mm a year.

This does not sound like a lot, but over time it can add up dangerously.
