It's the end of radio duo Grant Nash and Anele Mdoda

The popular pair, who have been a radio twosome since their university radio days, have decided to part ways.

5FM said in a statement that Grant, "an avid Buddhist and vegan, is retiring from radio in order to further himself spiritually", while Anele is joining another broadcaster.

Commenting on her time with the station, Anele said, “5FM is only for the fearless. I am glad they even let me through the door. I’ve learnt so much and become so much more because of the brand. Thank you for that”.

Grant commented: “It was always a dream of mine to work for 5FM. That dream came true. I’m eternally grateful for all that made this a reality. I can only hope my spiritual journey will be filled with as many helping hands and loving hearts”.

5FM’s station manager Aisha Mohamed had this to say: “5FM has enjoyed an amazing four years with Grant and Anele. Their dedication and commitment to the station has been commendable. 5FM’s line-up changes will come into effect on 1 April 2012. We’re excited about the new line-up and will be announcing what listeners can expect on 1 March 2012 live on 5FM”.

Anele Mdoda is going back to 94.7 Highveld Stereo to take over the flagship Afternoon Drive Time show from Mark Pilgrim.

Pilgrim will continue to do the Take 40 Countdown programme on Saturday mornings, Primedia said in a statement.

Both a radio and TV personality, Mdoda is described as an A-List celebrity after appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and hosting the popular 'SA's Got Talent' show.

Primedia CEO Terry Volkwyn commented: "Stand by for a burst of energy from Anele that is going to transform the show and keep listeners hooked".

"Anele has a razor sharp wit and is an exuberant personality who really interacts with her audience. Everyone at 94.7 is delighted to have Anele back."
