Layer of fat keeps humans warm when it gets cold

HUMANS have a layer of fat over our bodies that works as insulation, keeping us warm when it is cold.

That is why thin people feel the cold more acutely than plumper people.

But, if we lived in a desert, like camels, fat all over would prevent us from cooling down quickly.

So camels store their fat in their humps.

Camels vary their temperature instead of sweating because perspiring would cause them to lose too much water. - largestfastestsmartest.com; howstuffworks.com; earthsky.org
