Kau and co are back in black

AFTER another sell-out in Johannesburg in March this year, the comedy show Blacks Only is back

The show's co-producer, comedian David Kau, will continue his role as MC. The last show was on March 12 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

This year's show is themed "We're staying black" and according to Kau, it takes a poke at Vodacom for changing their colours from blue to red.

"I think the reason why people keep buying tickets and coming back is for new talent. The show has lots of new talent that is guaranteed to be funny," Kau said.

The show has been going for six years, which translates into 20 shows and more than 50,000 tickets sold in four areas.

Kau said he hoped the show would continue for many more years.

"I am getting old, but I will host the show for as long as I can and then hopefully hand over the reins to another comic to keep the show going."

New comedians in the line-up are Skhumba and Shimmy Isaacs.

Also back after winning fans in previous Blacks Only comedy shows are Mpho Pops, Chris Mapane, Chris Forrest and after a long break David Kibuuka.

The show takes place on July 30 at the Sandton Convention Centre.
