Mother and two others to appear in court on Monday in baby Siwaphiwe kidnapping case

The mother of baby Siwaphiwe Mbambo and two other people will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of hijacking and kidnapping‚ police said.

Additional charges might be added against the three suspects‚ they said.

 One-month-old Siwaphiwe was found in the early hours of Sunday after police intercepted a vehicle near Mariannhill Toll Plaza — two days after she was snatched during a car hijacking at a Durban shopping centre.

Her biological mother‚ S’bongile Mbambo‚ was taken into custody on Saturday‚ while the two occupants of the vehicle stopped by police on Sunday morning were also arrested.
