A 71-YEAR-OLD pilot was killed when his plane crashed in Brits yesterday, North West police said.
Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the pilot was flying alone in a RV7, 2-seater aircraft.
"He attempted to land the aircraft four or five times, but could not do so. He later said over the radio that he is having a total blackout and could not see anything. His radio went quiet after that." Ngubane said other pilots found the wreck near the top of a mountain.
"The pilot was found dead on the scene. His next of kin have not yet been informed of his death."
