Lebese's staying put, says Steve

Kaizer Chiefs winger George Lebese is staying put at the club as far as Amakhosi head coach Steve Komphela is concerned.

Lebese is rumoured to be on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns after apparently handing in a transfer request, but Komphela insisted yesterday Lebese was not going anywhere.

"George is still with us, not unless there is something you know that I don't. He's with us and he will be at training tomorrow [today]," he said.

Some have questioned Lebese's commitment after he tweeted, "All I wanna do is play football irregardless of what colour T-shirt I have on" (sic).

Komphela insisted the 28 year old is committed to the club. "He is. There are actually more conversations that we have with George that the two of us as we discuss we say, 'But where does this come from?'

"But understanding the nature of the business and the nature of perspectives and opinions, you can't stop people from saying things that [make you think] ... where did that come from?"

Lebese made 14 league starts last season and scored four goals.

Other big names that could be on the move are Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama, who reportedly wants to leave. Mamelodi Sundowns are thought to be very keen on him.

Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee has returned to training after absconding, but rumours refuse to die down he could also be moving to Sundowns.

The Brazilians are still believed to be battling to convince Khama Billiat to sign a new contract.
