New Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thapelo Morena has promised to deliver after finally joining the club from Bloemfontein Celtic.

Morena revealed that he chose Sundowns over Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

"I chose Sundowns because of the style of play and mostly because they are collecting titles," said Morena.

"Chiefs and Pirates [were interested]. I spoke to my agent because he was the one talking to them. I chose Sundowns."

Morena had become one of Celtic's best players and coach Serame Letsoaka was adamant the player would stay on for at least another season. But the 22-year-old wanted to move on to bigger things and this was clear when he disputed Celtic's claim that he had signed a new deal.

After returning from the Olympics in Rio, where he did not play, Morena sealed the dream move to the defending league champions.

"It was a hard decision [to leave] because Bloemfontein Celtic put me where I am now. I have delivered a lot to them. They were my first family and Sundowns will be my second family. I just have to deliver the same way I did at Celtic. I am going to give my all," said Morena.

"One thing my late mother used to say to me is 'where there's competition, that's where you will reveal your best'. There's a lot of competition at Downs, so I have to work very hard."

Mosimane has transformed the likes of Bongani Zungu, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly into phenomenal players and Morena is hoping the former Bafana Bafana coach will also improve his game immensely.

A couple of things Morena would like to improve on include decision- making and converting scoring opportunities.
