Hloni "Superstar" Maboko returns to his happy hunting ground, Blairgowrie Recreation Centre in Randburg, in an eight-rounder against Xolani Mgidi on Sunday.

The fight is the headline act of promoter Sandile Xaka's eight-card development tournament that sees the busy promoter return to the venue where he launched his Supreme Boxing Promotions in July last year.

Maboko is a huge draw card in Randburg, where he has chalked up three wins in four fights. He is rated No 10 for the SA title that is held by Phila Mpontshana.

Maboko's stablemate from the Toweel Gym, Sipho "Msiquest" Noqthole, will take on Ronnie Chiloane over six rounds in the bantamweight division.

Nqothole is undefeated in five fights and his consistency has earned him the No 7 spot. The title is held by Yanga Sigqibo.

Xaka has afforded SA-based Congolese Faraday Mukandila an opportunity to redeem himself after his loss to Uyanda Nogogo in June.

Mukandila will face his countryman Fortune Muyumba in a junior middleweight fight over four rounds.

Xaka said action will begin at 1pm.
