De Sa's exit catches out Kadodia

Maritzburg United boss Farouk Kadodia admits that he's disappointed that their former head coach Roger de Sa lasted just 72 days at the club.

De Sa's resignation was confirmed yesterday after just seven matches in charge and Kadodia admitted the decision by De Sa, who has family issues to sort out in Cape Town, had caught him off guard.

"Fadlu [Davids] will take over until the end of the season. We have nine games left and he has our full backing," said Kadodia.

"If the guy [De Sa] is honest about the reason he has left, then you got to respect that but in the same token we are also disappointed."

Kadodia insisted that he doesn't regret the decision to hire De Sa, who arrived at the club in January on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

He replaced Davids who had been serving in a caretaker capacity after Ernst Middendorp's departure in November.

Rumour has it that De Sa resigned to open the door for him to join Bafana Bafana as head coach. The coach was not available yesterday despite numerous attempts to contact him.
