'Polokwane's ship in calm waters'

Polokwane City's interim coach Bernard Molekwa claims all is well in their camp despite the club's ongoing dispute with their former coach Luc Eymael.

Eymael resigned last week and joined Bloemfontein Celtic the next day on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Molekwa, who doubles as City's general manager, has been tasked with the responsibility to guide the team until the end of the season.

Eymael's last game in charge was last week when the Limpopo side beat African All Stars 3-1 in the Nedbank Cup but Molekwa took over when City played to a goalless draw with Mamelodi Sundowns in on Tuesday. Molekwa is confident that Eymael's departure will not affect their ambitions.

"I told my players that we don't know the reason why the coach [Eymael] left and it is a situation beyond our control," Molekwa said.

"We've got a job that we have to do as players and that is to play football."

He continued: "The chairman (Johnny Mogaladi) gave me the task to lead the team until the end of the season."

City may have earned a credible draw against Sundowns, but Molekwa is concerned that they have now drawn the most number of games in the league (12).

He said it is vital that they start winning to improve on their sixth position.

"Our ambition is still to finish in the top eight, so we need to start collecting maximum points," Molekwa added.

Interestingly, City's next match is against Bloemfontein Celtic at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on April 1.
