Pirates defender joins AmaZulu

AmaZulu have signed Orlando Pirates defender Mbongeni Gumede on a three year deal, the club said on Monday.

The National First Division (NFD) side says the 22 year-old versatile defender was instrumental last season during his loan spell from the Buccaneers which was well appreciated by the Usuthu faithful supporters.

"We’re pleased to announce that we’ve agreed matters with Orlando Pirates and we’re delighted to have Shoes come on a permanent basis," Usuthu general manager Lunga Sokhela told the club's website.

The Umlazi born right-back will join up with head coach, Joey Antipas’ next weekend’s pre-season tournament in Richards Bay.
