Royal Eagles coach Khabo Zondo is still keen to use Katlego Mphela until such time the National First Division club makes a decision to discipline the player or let him off the hook for missing training sessions last month.
Mphela, according to Zondo, has been in training with the club and could get a run when fifth-placed Eagles host third from bottom side African Warriors at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday (3.30pm).
But it's not as if they have been missing Mphela because young Siyanda Ngubo has proven to be a nuisance for the opposition, scoring eight league goals.
"We are looking at getting 'Killer' back into the fold, but we are not through yet with his issue," said Zondo.
"He has been training for three weeks and we hope that we can use him until such time we know that he is being let off the hook or if disciplinary action will be taken against him."
Eagles will be without Kabelo Mahlasela, who is serving a two-match suspension after getting a red card, and the injured Seun Ledwaba for Sunday's match.
After his first goal this season secured a vital three points last weekend, Eagles defender Dominic Isaacs is desperate for a good winning streak to edge closer to leaders Baroka FC.
NFD Fixtures (all 3.30pm)
Today:
Santos v Highlands Park, Athlone
Tomorrow:
Swallows v Mthatha Bucks, Dobsonville; Witbank Spurs v Milano, Puma Rugby Stadium; Thanda v Leopards, Umhlathuze Sports Complex; Vasco v CT All Stars, Parow Park
Sunday:
Baroka v FC Cape Town, Old Peter Mokaba Stadium; Eagles v Warriors, Harry Gwala Stadium; Mbombela United v AmaZulu, Kanyamazane
