World 400m champion Wayde van Niekerk has won the Olympic crown in a 43.03sec world record at the Rio Games on Sunday night.
Wayde is actually the first South African sprinter to win an Olympic gold since Bevil Rudd, also in the 400, at Antwerp 1920.
