Mamelodi Sundowns vice- captain Thabo Nthethe has not given up on playing for Bafana Bafana again, saying he still has a lot to offer after a solid season with his club.

Nthethe was a big winner at the end-of-season PSL awards in Kempton Park on Monday night, walking away with the Absa Premiership Defender of the Season and the Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament awards.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic defender has not played for the national team since 2014 when Gordon Igesund was in charge, and admits he is missing the days of putting on the national team jersey. I have not given up. I believe I can still contribute. I miss those days," said Nthethe, who has 19 Bafana caps and one goal.

While other clubs put their feet up and reflect on the past season, Nthethe and his teammates will be back in training to prepare for the CAF Champions League group stages.

Nthethe maintained that Sundowns will not suffer the same way as Orlando Pirates, who hardly had ample break after playing in the Champions League and Confederation Cup last season.

"We have enough players. Maybe the legs will fall asleep because of the games we are playing, but I think we have the team for the coach to rotate. It's not always easy to rotate, but let's wait and see," he said.
