Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat says working with Pitso Mosimane has helped his game tremendously.

Speaking after collecting his PSL Player of the Month award for March-April yesterday, Billiat heaped praises on Mosimane, who was also voted the best coach for the same period.

"I look at myself three or four years back, I'm a different player now. I only thought football was about going forward and that I didn't have to mark, but now I play for the team," said Billiat, who has 10 goals and 20 assists to his name in all competitions this season.

"We see football differently today. We used to play football and not watch our games or those of our opponents, [meaning] we were not preparing enough," added the Zimbabwe international in reference to Mosimane's influence.

The 25-year-old also responded to rumours linking him with potential move to clubs in France, Belgium and China.

But Billiat, who is also the favourite to win Player of the Year award, said he would seek Mosimane's guidance at the end of the season.

"There is still CAF [Confederation Cup] to take care of. I will see these things at the end of the season. I still have to talk to my coach, and he always helps me. I know he wants the best for me and I trust him.

"The league is not done because there is still the record to play for," he added, referring to the record points haul of 69 points set by Kaizer Chiefs last season.

Sundowns, who are on 65 points, need to win their remaining two games to set a new PSL points scoring record.

Mosimane, meanwhile, has some insights into their CAF Confederation Cup opponents - Medeama SC from Ghana.

The two sides meet at the Lucas Moripe Stadium tomorrow [6pm] in the play-off round.

"They play a bit narrow because they want the fullbacks to open up - a typical Ghanaian team.

"We have to make sure that we recover the ball as quickly as possible. They are not about kick-and-fight," said Mosimane ahead of the clash in Atteridgeville.
