JAMES Keene's reward for the midweek goal that kept up Bidvest Wits' title challenge will be to play tomorrow against holiday island amateurs Light Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"He needs a 90-minute run," said coach Gavin Hunt of his English import who has netted seven times since his signing in January in a boon for Wits' hopes of keeping up with PSL front-runners Mamelodi Sundowns.

Keene got a dramatic winner on Wednesday night away at Maritzburg United, which saw them snatch all three points from a match that looked destined for a draw and a major dent in their title hopes.

But while most of the players involved in the encounter in Pietermaritzburg will get to rest this weekend, Keene will play against the club from the Seychelles, who Wits beat 3-0 away in the first leg.

"Players like Bongani Khumalo will also get a game," added Hunt of his plans for the match.

"It's a good chance to give some players in the squad a run."

The match kicks off at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg at 6pm.

Ajax Cape Town are also set for relatively easy progress to the next round of the Confederation Cup, having won 2-1 away at Sagrada Esperanca of Angola.

Coach Roger de Sa was taken aback by the poor quality of the home side although he did point out that the league season in Angola only got underway last weekend.

But he will again rest players and give reserves an opportunity, confident that Ajax will see off the challenge of the Angolans when they host them at the Athlone Stadium at 7.30pm tomorrow.
