#FeesMustFall protester invades stadium as Chiefs downs Wits (PHOTOS)

Bidvest Wits striker Phakamani Mahlambi and Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper Reyaad Pieterse pulled a sterling performance in an epic Absa Premiership League encounter at Bidvest Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Glamour Boys are now back in the title race after their 1-0 win against second-placed Wits, who dominated most of the 90 minutes.

The host side Wits conquered the first half, creating more opportunities leaving Chiefs midfield frustrated.

Chiefs keeper Pieterse denied Clever Boys numerous goal scoring opportunities, but it was George Maluleka’s second-half set piece that made a difference between the two sides.

The visitor hung onto the lead in a match that had everything - including a pitch invasion by a young female protester bearing a "#FeesMustFall'' banner.

Wits student Catherine Seabe caused quite a stir when she went running into the pitch during Chiefs, Wits clash with a ‘Fees Must Fall’ banner last night.

Speaking to Power FM later on, from Hillbrow Police station, the arrested Wits student said her aim was to get the attention of Chiefs skipper Simphiwe Tshabalala.

She adds that she feel like she was able get the attention of Tshabalala.

"I ran to Simphiwe Tshabalala's who we have been trying to contact to rally our support from his side and to the soccer community.

Stadium securities had to chase fast sprinting Seabe for a 20 meters distance before grabbing her and later hands her to the police.

"Soccer is a wealthy community it makes a lot of money, its a billion dollar business. We needed all sector of society not only university and corporate sector but also sports, "she adds.
