Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Pitso Mosimane is confident that midfielder Bongani Zungu will remain fully committed to his side despite concluding a deal with Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes this week.

Zungu's agent Steve Kapeluschnik confirmed the two-year deal on Wednesday, just three days ahead of tomorrow's Tshwane derby against SuperSport United (Lucas Moripe Stadium, 8.15pm).

"Losing Bongani [to Guimaraes] is like a father handing over his daughter to get married to someone. You are happy, but you are not happy," Mosimane quipped.

On a serious note, though, Mosimane said Zungu has always been a committed player and have never been one to pull out of tackles.

"He knows that he will play games and there is nothing like 'you have signed with another club and we put you on the bench or on the streets', no, no, no. We don't do that. We are Mamelodi Sundowns. We treat him with respect and he plays with integrity. He doesn't pull out of tackles and he gives us full commitment. There is a big, big level of trust and integrity between us," he said.

SuperSport midfielder Dean Furman, meanwhile, said he was looking forward to battling it out with Zungu - his Bafana Bafana teammate - in the derby match against the Premiership leaders tomorrow.

"It is definitely a game we are looking forward to and it is always good to play against a top team. It is important for us to bounce straight back after our [4-1] loss to Polokwane City and there will be no better way to do it than in a local derby," Furman said.

"I congratulated Bongani on his move and credit to him, he's been in terrific form this season. He's been in great form for the national team as well and he's got the attributes to become a great player."
