No AmaTuks deal for Nengomasha

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha will not be offered a deal by University of Pretoria despite recent reports to the contrary.

The 33-year-old, who has more than 350 Premiership appearances since making his debut in SA in 2001-02, was training with the Tshwane side before the end of the year and initial reports suggested he could be offered a deal.

However, AmaTuks coach Sammy Troughton has confirmed that the team is "full" in Nengomasha's position, which is defensive midfield.

"He hasn't come back. We are quite full in that position and they [management] haven't offered anything," Troughton said.

The AmaTuks players who can play in the position include Ronald Ketjijere and Vuyisile Ntombayithethi.

Meanwhile, Troughton's own future has been the subject of debate with the team occupying 15th position with just six points from 11 league matches. To make matters worse, they have scored the lowest number of goals in the league with just five in their goals for column.

Troughton, though, said his future is the last thing on his mind as AmaTuks look to turn things around in the new year.

"We haven't met with management because they are coming back on Wednesday. At the moment we are preparing the team for the match against Cosmos," he said.

Saturday's match at the Tuks Stadium is a six-pointer, as a win would mean AmaTuks will move to within one point of Ezenkosi, giving them hope of escaping from the rele- gation zone.
