After a blistering start to the season, Mpumalanga Black Aces have hit a speed wobble they will hope to correct when they entertain Jomo Cosmos in an Absa Premiership clash at the Mbombela Stadium tonight.

Aces took 15 points from the first 21 available in the league this season but since then have lost three matches in a row in all competitions.

Coach Muhsin Ertugral admitted his side were outwitted against Chippa United, but also knows that Cosmos will present a much more direct physical challenge with little mystery in the way their opponents will set up.

Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane said the issue in the last three games had been putting together a solid 90 minutes.

"We have been playing well in patches, you could see that in the two losses against Chiefs," Mabokgwane said.

"It was the same against Chippa, we just lost concentration in the second half.

"We either start the game well and then let it slip in the second half, or we start slowly, let teams get in front and only then start playing like we can. We need to start putting together a more complete performance from the beginning of the match to the end. It is something we are aware of though, putting two good halves together.

"If we can bring in that consistency, we know that we can play well enough to finish in the top four or five this season. We have the players to do it and coach to get there."

Cosmos will be buoyed by their first victory of the season at home to Polokwane City on Saturday when Charlton Mashumba netted the only goal.
