Unwanted Sundowns players to get retrenchment letters

PSL giant Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly embarking on a massive restructuring process that will see some of the clubs’ old name players being axed.

Sundowns are known for their reputation of buying big names players with exorbitant signing fees and big salaries in the domestic league.

It is alleged that the club has issued retrenchment letters to some of its unwanted players to go and try their luck elsewhere.

"The club is now embarking on a different strategy. Players were handed clearances but some don’t want to leave – they want a payout," a source known to Kickoff reports.

"The club is now busy sorting that out but at the end everything will be sorted and the dust will settle."
