'Things didn’t work out at Sundowns': Manqele

Edward Manqele says he is happy to be at Kaizer Chiefs and looking forward to do good for the club after signing a three year deal with the PSL reigning champions.

The 28-year-old striker was badly wanted by Chiefs in 2012 but unfortunately his back then club Free State Stars decided to reach an agreement with Mamelodi Sundowns at the time.

Mangele was sideline by lack of enough game time at Sundowns under coach Pitso Mosimane which saw him being loaned to Moroka Swallows.

However the Randfontein born star was loaned to the Dube Birds by Downs before joining Chippa United.

"I am happy to be here and looking forward to make a contribution. Things didn’t work out at Sundowns. I was loaned to Moroka Swallows where I did well," Manqele told Kaizer Chiefs website

"I ended up signing for Chippa United. I am happy to be here and will give my best to the team. I worked with coach (Steve) Komphela before."

"I did wonders under him. The coach knows me very well and I am happy to be reunited with him. I was disappointed when I didn’t join Amakhosi earlier, but I told myself that one day I will play for Chiefs."
