Banyana Banyana have good reason to worry ahead of their second leg 2016 Olympics qualifier against Kenya at Machakos Stadium on Sunday.

They take a 1-0 advantage to the east African country for the third-round clash, but after seeing how Kenya played in the first leg a fortnight ago in Dobsonville, Soweto, Banyana striker Sanah Mollo expects an even harder game.

Kenya arrived on the day of the match but did not show any signs of fatigue as they gave a good fight against the hosts. Mollo knows their opponents will be better prepared for the return leg.

"The first leg was very difficult. We did not know anything about Kenya and it was very difficult to penetrate their defence. We only managed to score one goal, although we missed chances.

''If they gave us a tough time at home, then it's going to be worse when we play them in their backyard," Mollo said yesterday.

"We should try to score a few goals and secure a spot in the final round of qualifiers. The coach [Vera Pauw] has been working on our finishing because in the last game we missed clear chances."

Pauw is delighted to have goalkeeper Roxanne Barker back in the squad after her club in Iceland, Por KA, refused to release her for the first leg.

Versatile player Refiloe Jane is also back after returning from the World Student Games in South Korea, a big boost for the side.

"Roxanne is playing in a top league in Europe, which means she is used to the pressure of matches like this. She is our first-choice goalkeeper," Pauw said.

Banyana will again be without central midfielder Mamello Makhabane, who has a stomach bug, and striker Jermaine Seopesenwe, who is in the US.

The team leaves for Kenya today.
