‘Marks Maponyane should apologise’: Dumitru

Former Bafana Bafana coach Ted Dumitru has expressed his unhappiness at prominent soccer analyst Marks Maponyane’s criticism of Platinum Stars winger Masibusane Zongo.

Dumitru says Maponyane is continuously suppressing players' creative nature instead of providing constructive opinion on how such players can use their unique gift more effectively.

"Marks Maponyane should apologise for disrespectfully criticising 'mother nature' which blesses many SA players," said Dumitru said on his Facebook account.

The 25 year-old winger got harshly criticised by Maponyane for showcasing his thrilling and entertaining moves around the ball at nearly packed Moruleng Stadium in the first edition of the Maize Triangle Challenge.

"Pure talent, inspiring skills and creativity in football can only be rejected or criticised by brainless people."

"Disregard those self-made TV experts - they are a shame to SA Football. Let the magic of those skilful players shine...and love it," said Dumitru.
