Lucky Baloyi did not need to think twice.

He would rather be at Moroka Swallows saving them from relegation than at newly crowned Absa Premiership champions Kaizer Chiefs.

The Swallows midfielder, on loan from Chiefs for a season, watched as his Amakhosi players celebrated winning the league title last week with three matches to spare.

Unlike his Amakhosi players who are on cloud nine, Baloyi has endured a nightmare campaign with bottom of the table Swallows, but he would not swap it even for league glory.

He is on a mission to save the Dube Birds and says should they achieve that goal, it would feel as good as winning a league medal. "I would like to congratulate Chiefs. They showed that they really wanted it from the start, but my focus is on Swallows," the 23-year-old said yesterday.

"We have not won anything this season, but I would be very happy if we survive. I would feel like I have achieved something if we survive. I will work hard for Swallows. We are all determined because we do not want to see this big team going down."

Swallows visit University of Pretoria at Tuks Stadium today (7.30pm), needing nothing else but the crucial three points.

The Dube Birds last played against SuperSport United 10 days ago in a 1-1 draw, and Baloyi said they have a lot of time to work on problem areas since then.

"We have to fight from the first whistle to the end. We have had a good break and we got a chance to fix the things that needed to be worked on after our draw with SuperSport. Also, the coach [Craig Rosslee] has not been with us for a long time, so the time we had was good so that he can work on how he wants us to play."

Swallows only have one win in 2015, while Tuks, who are in 10th place on 31 points, are without a win in their last six league matches.
