Khune, Baxter, Bobby all hauled before disciplinary committee

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune heads a list of several people scheduled to appear before the Premier Soccer League's disciplinary committee next week following his controversial tweets.

Khune was this week given five days to "explain himself", but even before that period expired the PSL announced yesterday that he must face the DC next Thursday.

Also appearing will be Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter who, according to the PSL, "contravened Rules 51 and 53 after [he] attended a post-match press conference" after Chiefs' loss to Black Leopards in the Nedbank Cup. Baxter had earlier been sent off.

Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung did not escape the wrath of the DC, who expect him to answer to charges of insulting a match official, Bafana Mosia, during Chiefs' match at Swallows on March 18.

Following a controversial end to the match against Black Aces earlier this month, Mamelodi Sundowns' duo of coach Pitso Mosimane and captain Alje Schut have also been hauled before the DC to answer to charges of "unsporting behaviour".

They confronted match officials after a goal had initially been awarded to their club, only to be overturned a few minutes later as the referee claimed the Aces keeper, Jackson Mabokgwane, had been fouled. They will appear on Monday.

National First Division clubs Witbank Spurs and Golden Arrows have also been ordered to appear before the DC next week. - Nkareng Matshe
