With a crunch league match coming up against fellow championship chasers Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday, Bidvest Wits are taking no chances in African club competition in Swaziland this weekend.

This is according to CEO Jose Ferreira yesterday as Wits fly to Swaziland tomorrow for their African Confederation Cup first-round, second-leg tie against Royal Leopards.

The Clever Boys preferred to fly rather than drive in order to get in and out of Swaziland as quickly as possible.

They send a bevy of reserve players while resting several key members for the crunch clash against the Brazilians.

Just who will travel and who will stay will be decided closer to tomorrow morning's departure, Ferreira said.

Wits have a 3-0 lead from the first leg against the Swazi police team and are confident they have done enough to advance to the next round, where they should meet Petro Atletico of Angola - barring a major upset.

"We want to get the players back as quickly as we can, so we are flying back on Sunday morning," said Ferreira.

The match is on Saturday at 3pm at Somhlolo Stadium.

Wits host Sundowns at Milpark Stadium in the league on Tuesday night. Both clubs sit on 37 points in second place but the Brazilians have the better goal difference and a game in hand.
